NASA spent the '70s exploring the use of practical, reusable space transports. The Space Shuttle became the crowning achievement of this research. The first operational shuttle flight occurred in 1982 with Space Shuttle Columbia. After three memorable decades in space, the final space shuttle mission was completed in July of 2011. The kit features a detailed space shuttle with a realistic fuel tank and booster rockets, a detailed opening cargo bay with optional payload assemblies, a display stand and decal markings for all six space shuttles (Enterprise, Columbia, Discovery, Endeavor, Challenger and Atlantis).

Helpful Hints For Building
Your Space Shuttle with Fuel Tank and Boosters is a Level 3 kit - it is for experienced model builders. Parental supervision is sested. Always study the assembly drawings included in the packaging before beginning. Each part is identified by a part number.Trimming to remove extra plastic and filing to smooth before part assembly is sested. For better paint and decal adhesion, wash the plastic parts in a mild detergent solution. Rinse and let air dry. Check the fit of each piece before cementing in place. Allow paint to dry thoroughly before handling parts.
